CROSSVILLE, TENNESSEE

My wife, Evelyne and I have been living in Tennessee since 2010. This year will be a special one for us as we are going to celebrate our 50 th wedding anniversary.

For this event, we are going to Iceland and hopefully see the Northern Lights.

Here in Tennessee, we enjoy pickleball, hiking, ballroom dancing, traveling and doing different types of volunteer work.

In 2022, I got my second hole-in-one playing golf.

Hole-in-One July 13, 2022 August 10, 2023

The family has grown in that we now have three grandchildren. Our daughter has two, Sydney who is 9 and Oliver who is 7. Our son has one who is turning two years old and his name is Shawn. They don’t live near us, unfortunately, but we do travel to see them as much as possible.

My wife does volunteer work with Medicare counseling people one-on-one and teaches Welcome to Medicare classes. I teach pickleball to beginner players and enjoy that quite a bit. Both my wife and I do volunteer at our local playhouse.

I have competed in pickleball tournaments and was the 2023 Tennessee Senior Olympic Men’s Doubles age group 70-74 Gold Medalist and in mixed doubles I got a bronze medal.

We are enjoying life and making the best of things.

HUNTINGTON, NY

After graduating from QC, I went on to receive my Masters in Education Administration from NYU. I worked at a variety of Universities including NYU, Columbia and Polytechnic University.

After ten years, I decided to change fields and went into sales, only having two outside sales positions, both within the NY area for the rest of my career.

Now retired and living in Huntington, NY, I spend my time with my wife Charlene, and my daughter, Michelle who also lives here on Long Island.

I have two grandsons, Austin, age 8 and Brody, age 5 who I spoil rotten! I also have another daughter, Brooke who lives in South Florida, who we visit on a regular basis.

Additionally, I spend my time working with two charities, Book Fairies; a Freeport based nonprofit organization that collects books for kids and repurposes them to underserved communities and help raise funds for a nationally recognized nonprofit cinema here in Huntington called the Cinema ArtsCenter.

NEW YORK

Upon graduating QC in '67, I immediately headed out west for the 2-year Masters in City Planning program at UC Berkeley. I lived within and through the People's Park protests. Within a month of graduating, I took a bucket-list transcontinental railroad journey back to NY, got married, began a 3-week European honeymoon, and began my career as the first-ever planner at NYC Transit Authority.

I didn't meet Michele at HOB, but at a blind-date barbecue party arranged by Marv Alpert's mother. Don't know if it was love at first sight, but here we are today celebrating our 55th anniversary. In 24 years at NYCT, I rose to General Manager of Buses. I was then recruited by MTA Bridges and Tunnels as Vice President of Operations, where I managed the field implementation of the nation's first E-ZPass system, which many of you "enjoy" today.

I "retired" in 2001, and then spent the next 20 years as Principal and National Transit Director at Sam Schwartz Engineering. After 53 years of doing what I loved, Covid interrupted my routine, and I found I enjoyed not working in 2021.

Along the way, we raised 3 great kids -- Matthew, Martha, and Isaac -- all happily married, and, fortunately, owning their own homes within 10 minutes of us. We have 3 grandchildren. Sara just graduated from Cornell and is starting its Graduate School of Animal Science, en route to becoming a veterinarian. Liora completed her freshman year as a Dean's List student at Wash. U. in St.Louis. And Jules, soon to be 3, is probably just focused on pre-k.

As for Michele and I, we spend the winter at our place in Delray Beach, summer at home chillaxing at our beach cabana, and take 2 or 3 long cruises each year. I enjoy poker (a legacy of my HOB days), canasta, board games, and swimming.
