HAWORTH,
NJ
After graduating
from Queens College in 1969, I went to graduate
school, earning an MBA from Columbia Business
School and a PhD in economics from Columbia
Graduate of Arts and Science. For most of my
career, I was responsible for forecasting demand
and wholesale rates for more than 1100 telephone
companies. In 2015, I became a Professor of
Practice at Rutgers Business School and Director of
its Center for Research in Regulated
Industries
(https://www.business.rutgers.edu/regulated-industries-center).
During the past three years, and counting, I also
became a member of the Energy Trading Analytics
team
(https://et-analytics.com/projects)
whose goal is to
redesign wholesale energy markets to accommodate
wind and solar.
In October 2023,
I published a book: Humanizing the Digital Economy
(https://www.amazon.com/Humanizing-Digital-Economy-Connecting-Collaborative/dp/3031375068).
As for my
personal life, in 1977, I married Ellen Susanna
Cahn (Sue) who graduated with a BS from
Columbias Engineering School and later earned
a PhD from the school. She is a professor at Pace
University.
We have six sons.
They all went to Frisch H.S. in New Jersey. The
five oldest graduated from Princeton University and
the youngest from Harvard University. One is a
doctor, another is a lawyer, another is a research
scientist, another a consulting engineer and the
remaining two are in finance. The oldest three are
married and have eight children.
Sue and I live in
Haworth, NJ and have an apartment in Washington
Heights.
