BOCA RATON, FL

After the Bamboo days I worked for WNEW TV in Manhattan and shared an apartment in Flushing with Steve Ziperstein and Barry Tiras.

In 1969, on a whim, I moved to Mill Valley in Marin County across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco.

In the early 1970’s I and a partner opened Naturally High, one of the first two natural foods groceries in San Francisco.

This was a great time to be alive especially in the Bay Area…they say it was sex, drugs and rock n’ roll but I don’t remember.

A few years later I moved back to NY to join one of my brothers in starting the Apple & Eve juice company where I spent the rest of my working life.

In 1980 I married Anna. We lived on Long Island and then in Florida and raised two daughters, both of whom turned out to be successful human beings.

We are very proud of them both. They are in lasting, long term relationships and found satisfying careers. Nicole is a nutritionist and lives in Vermont with John.

They have two children who are the apples of Grandpa and Grandmas eyes.

Kelsey is a Senior Policy Manager for a national environmental organization and she and Rich live in Virginia with their three dogs.

Anna and I are both retired for some time now and live in Boca Raton, Florida.

Anna has become a certified meditation guide and yoga teacher and participates in both disciplines.

I play golf often and work out at a gym.

We have a very enjoyable social life with many friends near and far.

ROSWELL, GEORGIA

After retiring in 1998, my wife (Ellie) and I relocated from Eagan, MN to Roswell, GA.

I barely remember the years of work before that, but a box of memorabilia tells me that: I once taught college classes at the University of Wisconsin (Oshkosh) in General Studies (interdisciplinary courses, using state of the art multimedia, mastery goals, field study, etc.),Computer Science and Mathematics; practiced law; edited legal publications; managed database construction projects for complex litigation; edited and classifed legal materials; and designed online information products for lawyers.

Ellie spent most of her career as an Insurance Adjuster. After becoming a lawyer through several years of night study, she got to boss defense lawyers around while continuing in the insurance industry.

Now we have been retired for over 25 years and still live on the shores of a small lake (“Loch Highland”) near Roswell, GA.

Ellie's hobbies (reading, knitting, word games, and choir), and our nearly blind and deaf dog (Beau) keep her busy.

Until a few years ago, I played a great deal of tennis and captained one or more teams every league season for almost 20 years. I bowled often, although not often well. Loss of vision in one eye, combined with osteo-arthritis, has mostly eliminated competitive sports, but playing just for fun is still a thing.

My lifetime enjoyment of music has continued. When I graduated from Follies and Frolics, I played piano in lounges, pizza joints, and old folks homes. I also played piano in several musical productions.

Now, my life is consumed with music. I still lead a chorus at one retirement home. I play in at least 6 jazz bands, 2 concert bands, a polka band, and a Dixieland band (plus subbing in other groups, as needed). I am proud to say that my income from music often rises to the high 3digits. [It's like finding change sofas, only less lucrative].

We bought a camper van after the pandemic, so that we didn't have to eat in restaurants, sleep in hotels, and otherwise be exposed to germs (“do they still call them germs?”). We use it most often to travel to rehearsals, gigs, plays, and concerts. Once in a great while, we even go camping.

Living life to the fullest, we hope to follow my Aunt Ruth's example (still active and doing pretty well at 106). So far, so good.

Visitors to Atlanta area are welcome to stay with us, y'all. Seriously.
