Joe, died unexpectedly and in his sleep Monday morning, January 9th, 2017

He leaves behind his wife, Valerie and their daughter, Molly; a daughter, Melanie, and her husband, Chris, and grandson Henry, and a son, Ben, from a previous marriage; three loving stepdaughters; and a younger brother, Andrew Zalman.

Joe played intramural football for HOB, and loved being at the Houseplan parties, Friday and Saturday nights. He was a Phys Ed major at Queens College, and earned a Master's in Phys Ed. at Hunter.

An accomplished clarinetist and sailboat enthusiast, a lover of White Castle, and fine wines, Joe really lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed overseas travel, and family get-togethers, and family reunions. He was about one month shy of his 67th birthday, which would have been February 11th.

Joe was in HOB from 1967 to 1969.
